I spent most of yesterday getting to grips with Lightworks and have been pretty impressed so far with how easy it is to pick up. There were only a couple of things I found tricky in the workflow, importing and exporting.
- Set the framerate to match the imported video otherwise they will not import - for our Sony DSLR this is 30fps
- For export use AVI container with YUYV. Then use VLC to save as a MPEG4 although apparently the commandline tool ffmpeg might give better results
The Tower is glitchy and weird and so weird cuts were ok making my life a bit easier. Also the audio track was added at the end so did not have to sync particularly closely with the video tracks although there are some elements of incidental synchronisation.
